I've been thinking a lot about crafting. There are a few projects I was thinking about but couldn't really decide. I had to do a process of elimination, see how that goes and well see what I come up with.
I wanted to recycle old tires to create seating stools. Figured I could master the technique and sell them to make a bit of extra income. I work next to a tire shop and this idea seemed great since every week they throw away at least 30 old tires, but GOSH! tires are so heavy! Also, I was doing some research and even though I was willing to invest in the tools that I would need in order to cut and put together all the supplies, some of those supplies can get very expensive. If I had a bit of extra cash I totally wouldn't mind the high price of some of those supplies but for now I figured I could hold off on that. I did bring home two tires from the tire shop, I will hang on to them for a while, who know a massive sale may get me some of those supplies for a fraction of the actual price.
I started making some bead bracelets to sell and raise some money for my daughters upcoming sixth grade camp. I raised 53 dollars so far but I used a lot of material that I already had. However, Beads are quite expensive too and I don't want to sell to high of a price because I need to raise the money soon. So I would spend more money trying to buy beads than I actually make. I got discouraged from that too, but I realized in the process that I really did enjoy making jewelry, so that was a pro.
Thanks to that I started looking into other jewelry making ideas, alternatives to beads that is. I found something very interesting that I decided to share with everyone and well in the process document the process.
So in the next post coming up soon I will write about that and have some photos of the work so far. So stick around and check it out.

Tiny house project update 002
Today i just want to write about the project itself. I havent really been looking for much on the project or the land because i believe that questions related to the piece of land itself would have to be adressed with the cash in hand. However i have still been looking into the tiny houses. I believe that the toughest part of this quest would be the tiny house itself. Im not entirely sure how i would be able to pull off the project but i have given myself a pretty good idea of the price of an already built tiny house. Ranging in the 50000 dollars. I would never dream of actually making that happen on my income but i still want to go on.
Soooo, exactly how. Well i have decided that i really don't want to leave sea world. I really do like that job. I struggled a lot to get into it. Soo what i can do is look for another job four days a week in one of them and three on the other one its almost perfect. So that way i believe i can actually save.
But how? Well if i keep my seaworld income as my primary source then i would be able to save perhaps most of my other income. I would tecnically need only 300 a month more to pull it of. Because that would cover my rent and babysitting.
Its just a plan and the first step will actually be to get that other job. Sooo i think this week i can start that hunt. Wish me luck.

tiny house project update 001
hello everyone i have a few things to tell you and update you in.first off, while i was doing research on the tiny homes i came across Becky's Homestead, a YouTube channel about the life of becky and her homestead. i was greatly inspired by her and I realized that it is in fact possible to change the city life for a more rural and rustic living.
i still want to live in the tiny home and i still want to build it and design it but i have a feeling that might be a bit more expensive than buying a custom tiny home. yet i have also though further into the possibility of buying a land where i can build the tiny home(s). i spoke to my dad about my plans and although he has many concerns with the actual idea of having to get utilities in the property and what not, he seems to be liking the idea. he believes that buying a mobile home would be the best option and i am actually still not to sure about that. i still want to build my tiny home and live in it.well the idea now is to actually buy a piece of land and when we are talking about that piece of land we are talking about 5 acres or so of actual land. however i wasn't aware that buying a land has rules and regulations that must be followed. yet i am determined to educate myself on all this as much as possible so that i can strike the best deal and find the most suitable land for all my need s and my family's needs.
so i learned that in order to buy a land where i can build on i have to find a residential land. yet my project doesn't stop at just building my tiny house and living in it, in my property, but also putting the land to work. i'd like to have some animals and some crops where i can get some food from. like milk and eggs, and some poultry, as well as some veggies. in order for this to be possible my land has to be residential and agricultural. and that could be a bit more of a challenge. yet i am still determined to follow through.
i seem to have support from both my dad and my brother, and while i wished my mom was in this as well, i feel like the support i have is good enough. my daughter seems to be excited about this, but i am not sure she knows exactly what means to live on a farm.
well the first step to getting all this started is to actually start saving the money and in order to have money to save up i believe i need more income coming in. so i have decided to find another job that will allow me to get an equivalent of full time job with sea world and the new job. with sea world alone, and the 28 hour limit, i would never be able to save enough. so the hunt is on. i have already interviewed in one place but it will take them a while before they get back to me. mean time, i can continue my search and learn more about what i want for my plans.
i am very excited and i am sure that time will fly as i start looking into all that must be done. but like i said before i am determined to get this done, for me and my girls... for my family.

the tiny house project
i know that through out my life I have initiated numerous projects but managed to finish only a few. however, i am a true believer in myself, that one day, I will be able to finish the one project that will change my life. this one might be it.
i have been giving it a lot of thought lately. actually the idea has been in my mind for roughly a year, i want to live in a tiny house built and designed by me. i know it sounds crazy and I know i downsized heavily from my two-story dream house which i still want, however I believe that i can still achieve that dream house but in a tiny space. i eventually want that big home but i am by no means close at all to getting there, and that is the problem.
i plan to move from California to a desert area like Arizona or Calexico. perhaps I could buy land there for cheap and place my tiny home there. or perhaps I can make several tiny houses in one same lot and build a tiny house community in my own land. who knows, these are all crazy ideas i have gotten recently but what I do know for sure is that i want a tiny house for my family.
i dont know anything about construction so I plan on finishing a course ( once I begin one) on construction and plumbing, this will give me some basic knowledge on what to do and expect, and I will take it from there.
my dad has some carpentry knowledge and has experience in maintenance so that is a plus; however, since i want this project to be done 90% by me, i wouldn't want to carry any heavy loads of work on him, i would like him to supervise my project and help me with details I just cant get right. maybe things like helping me pick and choose the best material and tools, things like that.
anyways there is a lot of things to consider before actually starting the DIY tiny house. today i am doing some research on things I should spend full price for, and checking out designs to get an idea on how i want my tiny house, what kind of luxuries i want, and what would work best to live comfortably in my new home. soon, i want to begin sketching the floor plans with all my ideas in mind, and i am hoping that this time i can actually mange to blog my entire experience so that all my hard work stays documented and all my struggles can help me appreciate the final project.
i would love to see other people get inspired by my project to start their own and the only way to make it happen is by actually blogging the whole process.

the path I have chosen
I have come to the conclusion that it is time for me to really dig deep into my actual self and figure out what I want to accomplish in life. I know what I want to do, I know why, and I know who I want to focus on. However, I was unsure of what path I needed to follow in order to accomplish my goals. As a part of my current English 115 class, I have to write a research paper, worth 25% of my overall grade, about the career of my choice. I know I am majoring in Psychology, but was still undecided about what I would focus on...that is until now. Art therapy seems like the perfect career for me. It follows my need to help others feel better about themselves while incorporating my passion for the arts. Therefor I will establish some of the short term goals I will be working on and in the near future will be posting additional updates on how everything is going.
I have been doing some research about the actual career and have realized that I am actually headed in the right direction so far. I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Fine Arts. I will need additional licensing to become an actual art therapist but on the mean time I will have completed my psychology education and some child development education in order to begin my training.
My first goal is to start working in the childcare field, obtaining a special permit that allows me to work in a child care facility. I will need to take 4 courses in Child Development, a total of 12 units and then I can submit my permit. I will continue working on my major but in case I get held back for maternal needs I will have a better income source with that permit. I am hoping to accomplish this by no later than next year at around this time of the year. I will be starting this winter with one of the 4 courses and follow up next summer with another two courses, and attempt to take my last class either next fall or on the next winter break if there is one.
My next goal will be to transfer to SDSU. I am still going to focus on my first goal and will not make any additional planning as to ho I will transfer but I am hoping that by the end of next semester I have that planned out already.
my third goal will be to start taking additional courses in art. and hopefully by then I will have a clearer vision of what will be expected to fulfill my long-term goal Art Therapy.
on a side note I would like to establish that I have found an amazing university that has a program for Art Therapy. It would be a dream come true if I ever made it to that university. it is the Goldsmiths University of the UK. I am not going to say that that will be in my plans because I would lie however I do believe that if I had or ever have the opportunity to do so I would no doubt it.
To finish up this list of goals I want to state that while I am writing these as a reminder of what I want to accomplish and to leave detailed list of steps to accomplish my first goal by certain date, I can't control what the future might have reserved for me, but I can make my best everyday to accomplish this.

3. close reading (carefully analyzing the context in the reading)
KEY POINTS FOR CLOSED READING:
1. read multiple times
2. look for common ground (things you already know/have head of)
3. question and challenge the reading
4. write as you read (annotate, mark the text, highlight)
5. remember critics will read your writting
(this information was my understanding from the book "Keys For Writers" by Ann Raimes, Susan K. Miller-Cochran; seventh edition, Part 1 The Writing Process pp. 3-10. I interpreted what I read into my own words as a form of studying for quiz in an English class. It is by no means my work. Thank You)

new year 2015
today is the last day of the year 2014. I am very pleased to say that many good things happened to me this year. one of the best things was being able to be a part of my daughter Neomi's everyday life. I was able to be a full time mother and I felt really proud of myself.
another one of the best things that happened this old year was receiving the blessing of a new life. thats right, my newborn Osiris. Osiris was born on December 19 of the present year 2014.
these two young ladies are my reason to believe that this new year will be filled with new challenges and joys. it will be filled with many new blessings and many more happy moments. I am really looking forward to seeing what the new year will bring.
i don't regret anything that happened this year 2014 however i do know that many things that I did throughout the year I want to change. there are many parts of my life that I want to leave behind so that i can start a fresh new life this new year. my goal for the 2015 is simply to stay focused on all the goals that I have set for my future. I have many new goals for my life that include my two daughters, where there is no room for failure and for bad habits. I am very please to say that i feel very proud of myself for making the choice to change my life.
well I have nothing much to say just that I wish everyone a happy new year 2015
