Trying to find a moneymaking hobbie!

I've been thinking a lot about crafting. There are a few projects I was thinking about but couldn't really decide.  I had to do a process of elimination, see how that goes and well see what I come up with.

I wanted to recycle old tires to create seating stools.  Figured I could master the technique and sell them to make a bit of extra income.  I work next to a tire shop and this idea seemed great since every week they throw away at least 30 old tires, but GOSH! tires are so heavy! Also, I was doing some research and even though I was willing to invest in the tools that I would need in order to cut and put together all the supplies, some of those supplies can get very expensive.  If I had a bit of extra cash I totally wouldn't mind the high price of some of those supplies but for now I figured I could hold off on that.  I did bring home two tires from the tire shop, I will hang on to them for a while, who know a massive sale may get me some of those supplies for a fraction of the actual price.

I started making some bead bracelets to sell and raise some money for my daughters upcoming sixth grade camp.  I raised 53 dollars so far but I used a lot of material that I already had.  However, Beads are quite expensive too and I don't want to sell to high of a price because I need to raise the money soon. So I would spend more money trying to buy beads than I actually make.  I got discouraged from that too, but I realized in the process that I really did enjoy making jewelry, so that was a pro.
Thanks to that I started looking into other jewelry making ideas, alternatives to beads that is. I found something very interesting that I decided to share with everyone and well in the process document the process.

So in the next post coming up soon I will write about that and have some photos of the work so far. So stick around and check it out.
