NO on Proposition 8

No on proposition 8!!! But what is proposition 8?

Proposition 8 says that marriage should only be valid in the eyes of CA if the couple is one Woman and one Man. In other words Proposition 8 is against gay marriage.

I believe that Gay marriage is not something that should be segragated. Girls marrying girls and or Guys marrying guys is not something that can hurt the community. there is no reason in my point of view why gay marriage shouldn't be allowed. There may be different reasons on why same sex couples want to be together and I say if they are prohibited to do so doesn't mean that people are going to stop doing it. Some women and some men suffer in silence teases around the world, not just California, because they are gay and because they are seen as infectuous viruses that can be contagious. These people have the same right to live a happy life loving freely without being told who to love. these people should have a right to be recognized by the state as couple because sometimes is the gay marriages that live healthier marriages.

I believe that in gay marriages there is more respect, more union, more equality, the same sex united can be powerful. SAY NO on PROPOSITION 8!!!!

My Trip to The Museum of the Man

Going to the museum of the man was awesome last year. This year though the trip was all messed up. Not because it was boring but because first, some girls went off ahead on a different bus than the rest of the girls the thing was that the teachers didn't get on the bus either and Connie was really worried that they were going to go the wrong way. When we did get Balboa Park the girls were there and well Connie was relieved. Then when we finally made to the Museum of the man Nicole had arrived already with her girls and then she told us that the Free day was last week NOT today so we ended up going back to the Aerospace Museum, but it wasn't bad in there I actually thought that the planes that were for exhibition were pretty cool looking and then I got to read some of the Histories of some great inventions from World War I & II. But at the end we were all tired and we were hungry but,l we got back to school safe and in time before our stomachs' insides started eating each other. LOL just kidding. LUVS

School in Ancient Egypt vs. Today

School in Ancient Egypt is similar to school today in few ways, their lessons came from textbooks like ours come from textbooks too. In ancient Egypt learning to read was very important to find a good job and today is the same, if you don't have a good education then you can't get a job where they pay you well enough to get your basic necessities and still have money for the wants. I could only find few similarities and that's why I decided to do a comparison on the differences between life in school then and now. Today, anybody can study no matter what race and or what your level in society might be. Back then only the children born to Pharaoh's, government officials, scribes and priest were attending the schools. Also the schools were held outdoors and now they are held indoors with exception of Physical education (PE). One last point I want to compare is that in ancient Egypt only boys were allowed to study and girls were only allowed to learn at home with whatever their parents could teach them, now we live in a society were girls and guys are allowed to learn and study the same things.

Living in Ancient Egypt- School

  • System of writing with hieroglyphics took many years to learn

  • One or two children in every hundred learned to read and write well

  • Usually only the children of Pharaohs, and government officials, as well as the children of the most important people were the ones that learned to read and write

  • Young scribes practiced writing on boards

  • Experienced scribes wrote on papyrus scrolls, Scribes usually started school at the age of four and ended at age fifteen

  • Normally only boys went to school, girls were not allowed to go to school

  • Classes were held in the open air

  • Lessons were based on written textbooks that didn't change for centuries

  • Textbooks were long scrolls made up of several sheets of papyrus

  • Learning things by heart was very important as well as learning to speak clearly and confidently

My Name is Ana
by Ana Meza
Love me, Hate me,
but never forget me
hold me in your arms or
throw me in the trash,
but never forget who i am and what I did.
Because I loved you and I cared
Because I hugged you and I was there
Because I gave it all to be with thee, you can't forget what was my name.
My name is Ana
My name's for you
to keep you warm is my objective
So hold my heart next to yours,
and love me much and hate me not.
My name is Ana
My name's for you
To keep you warm is what I need
I love you darling
So love me too

Jared Ball for President 2008!!!

I will vote for Jared Ball because after doing some research on the candidates for the GP, I realized that he was the best choice that I could make. I read about him that he wanted to improve the living conditions of his people US people, he said that he didn't like the conditions in which many of the citizens are living in. I think this is very important especially because many people are living in unsanitary homes. One other reason that really made me decide my vote for Jared BAll was because he said to that he wanted to put an end to the white supremacy. He doesn't agree with the system and how it only allows white people to make decisions on whats best for the residents. I think this is good because the white people have different customs than oter races and is not fair that white people make decisions about how other races should live. I really felt that the words of Jared were sincere so I liked that and i thought that if I feel him sincere it should be a reason to vote for him. after all we want sincere people in the presidency. My last reason was that he said that he really wanted to make this world better and well that is one of the things I am really interested in. Tihs is why I will vote for Jared Ball for President 2008.

My Political Party

I'm "voting" for the Green Party!
I don't really want to vote but Dawn is making me, so now I actually have to pick and well after looking around through different political parties I decided that the Greens are the best for me to pick. There are a few reasons for this and one is definetly the antiwar. I myself am totally against the war and so I thonk its best if the war ends. The actual thing that made me decide on this party was that they promise social justice and equal opportunity. They promise too equal treatment for male and females in taking ideas equally from both. I liked that they mention working not only among the political members but also with citizens. They say that they will take ideas from citizens to make the right choices for the country. One last thing that I really agreed with was making this world more peaceful and maintaining earth clean and healthy as well as keeping social harmony. Although I would of have loved if they had mention something about protecting the wild life with fair penalties to those who destroy the natural habitat of the animals and the animals itsef. Higher penalties for those who kill or misstreat animals in danger of extinction.

First Part Last - Flashback

FLASHBACK - a literary technique in which a scene of a movie, play, short story, novel, or narrative poem that interrupts the presentaction of the plot to show events that happened at an earlier time.

I think that the author, Angela Johnson, uses flashbacks to tell her story because this way the reader can read the story and know whats happening now but then if there are things that can't be explained at the time that the story is taking place, the author has to use flashbacks to let the reader know what is it that happened back then that has an effect on whats happening right now. I really don't mind which way the author writes it because I'm already used to this kind of changes in stories. I watch Japanese movies that use flashbacks through out the entire movie. It's kind of nice because you get confused about when or what is going on so you have to stop and analyse the situation and then you understand better the whole story.

The First Part Last Reading Response 2

Before I even knew what gender was my baby I already had the name picked. I knew right away that if it was a boy I would name him Miguel Angel and if it was a girl I would name her Neomi Junieth. Miguel Angel I would've picked just because i love that name I think its a nice elegat name. But she came out a girl and I named her Neomi Junieth. Neomi because I had a girlfriend about three years ago and her name was Noemi, but my mom didn't like her, she didn't approve, so instead of naming her Noemi I switched the middle letters around to make it Neomi. Maybe my mom doesn't remember her but I do and she was a really important girl and my life, and she was very happy and brilliant, so i think that naming my baby after her is a beautiful way to remember her. Also I know that when my daughter grows up a decides to ask about the origin of her name I can have a beautiful story to tell her. Junieth is just a creation from my brothers mind but i think it sounds nice so I told him I would name my baby like that for her second name.

The First Part Last Reading Response 1

I remember that the day I told my mom that I was pregnant, I came home from the clinic and she was talking on the phone. I stood right in front of her with a serious look in my face. She new that I was coming from the clinic and when she saw the paper with results on my hand she told the person she wastalking to that she had to hang up. She looked worried and she then asked why the seriousness, i gave her the paper and when she saw she seemed disapointed, but then after a few seconds she smiled and she just said congratulations and then told me that she was going to support me in this as much as she could. I was nervous at first but then when she smiled i felt a big relieve and imense happiness.
